September’s Look on a Budget Challenge

Week two of school and thank goodness the kids have settled in nicely. Last week, I managed to sneak in a afternoon date with the hubby and had coffee with friends. While chatting, my girlfriend (a fellow blogger) dared me to do “a budget challenge”. I asked her what the heck that was. She explained ~ find an inexpensive outfit and make it look expensive, all while keeping it under $100 from head to toe. I said, “After having children, this is the way I roll! You’re on!”

Of course I was instantly attracted to this dress. Not only is it a gorgeous floral pattern, it’s effortless and my favourite fall colour combination. For $24.99 – it was a steal! I paired this wallet clutch in order to compliment the pink hues in the dress. By adding a heavier shoe, I’ve balanced out the delicate nature of the whole look. I scored these Banana Republic shoes on sale for $30! Let me share a little trick that I have in order to save; First things first, I highly recommend subscribing online to all of your favourite stores. Chances are, you will receive additional savings, which really makes a difference. Whenever possible, I try the item on in the store and then purchase online with a substantial discount. That’s exactly what I did with these shoes and necklace (there were both 50% off when purchased online!). Apparently, I am rocking heels more often recently. For sure, due to the blog! Overall, I managed to keep the entire look under $100 and achieved “the budget challenge”. Ok Jenny, what do I win?! LOL 🙂 Hope you have an amazing start to the week!
