Happy Monday Everyone!!! Today I am inviting you into my home to chat about kids and career and how the heck to balance it all 🙂
I have been a stay-at-home mom for five years now. During this time I have definitely been on a journey. So here’s the short version. It all started when I was my kid’s were small. I was attending various playgroups and started to notice a serious issue. Some women were giving up, taking care of everyone else and forgetting about them selves. I noticed them wearing their husband’s clothes, dressing all black everyday, or stuck in sweatpants. I had certainly been there, I am a mom too. After my babies were born, there was a chunk of time where I fell under all of these categories, but I’m referring to the women who remained in this rut for an extended period of time. After chatting with these ladies, it was revealed to me they were not feeling their best. Some were struggling with post baby weight, others were feeling a loss of self esteem and others simply said “why bother”? I realized that the issue was much deeper then just “clothes”. There was a direct correlation between how these women looked and how they felt. I wanted to empower them to be the best version of them selves through their wardrobe. I went back to school got my degree in fashion styling and began working. As I started to cleanse their closets and figuring out how to best flatter their shape, the feeling was priceless. This is exactly how my blog and business was born. As a result, I rediscovered my passion and higher purpose and I have never looked back.
Sounds fabulous, but like anything in life worth fighting for, there are hurdles. I didn’t realize how difficult it would be to balance family and a new career. The truth is, somedays I feel like a chicken with her head cut off. My daughter hates the blog and the fact that I’m working. She tells me it ‘stinks like kaka’ on a daily basis. My kids are not used to having mommy focus on anything else but them, so the transition has been challenging to say the least. I don’t have all the answers, but I have learned a few valuable lessons along the way. I am learning how to prioritize and manage my time in a more efficient way. For example, my kids are home for the summer, so I had to stay up later last night and wake up before them to get this post out. Another lesson I have learned is the importance of being present. This means putting the phone and computer away and being in the moment. Trust me, this is not always easy, but these are crucial years. I know my kids need me and my family is the priority, everything else is secondary. The other thing I had relinquish control over was the housework. I had to come to terms with the fact that the playroom will be upside down and the dishes may get piled up. This may have to be adressed at the end of the day and that’s ok. Most importantly the biggest and most valuable lesson I got is knowing I am truly living my purpose. When mommy is content and feeling fulfilled, the whole house benefits in a positive way 🙂
Anyone else struggling with balance in their life? Would love to know your thoughts on this matter! Thank you so much for taking the time to read!!!

As an enterpreneur & Professional Organizer (helping busy moms find balance) – I can say that most of us struggle to find balance in our day-to-day lives & it’s nice to have people like you to keep us inspired ; )
Hey Rachel!!! You have always been such a sweetheart! Thank you so much for your comment and well wishes! Really appreciate it! I LOVE and what your doing as well as cant wait to check it out! xo
Thanks for sharing your short but powerful story. Balance is everything even when you feel like you’re tipping the scales in one direction or the other! As moms we often put everyone and everything in front of ourselves but its super important to remember, as you said, that everything is better when we are also feeling fulfilled.
Keep up the inspiring posts Renata!

Such an inspiring post! Now I’m not (yet) a mom juggling kids, a career, and keeping a beautiful home, but I can relate (being a college student) striving for balance, and wishing you had more time so you can give everything the attention it needs!
I love what you’re doing, (inspiring/helping women be the best versions of themselves) because when you look good you really do feel good…
